Hi, and welcome to one of several roots of Mugwort Media.
I am a fine artist, a spiritual worker, and a teacher. My work focuses on sharing practices toward liberation for all beings.
All of Mugwort Media engages the human experience in this context: being in a living human body, in the present. And honoring this perspective as a single expression amongst billions of other ways of being.
I’m Bri—(sidhe/they/her)—a queer artist, witch, and animist, in the vein of my wayback Celtic folk. I am the creator of the Animist Activist Podcast and the Liberatory Earth Medicine Oracle Deck (in development through 2025.)
You might be here for my artwork, or the podcast, or my writing, or spiritual services (tarot readings, spellwork, guidance…) but regardless, thank you for visiting!
As an artist, I live for transformation through creativity as a spiritual practice & spirituality as a creative practice.
I illustrate new cosmologies for modern mythology and meaning-making. I make art for pleasure. I make art to honor grief. I make art that feels good or deep or both.
As a healer I cultivate radical creativity and collaboration, in and with myself, with others, and with Spirit(s). As a podcaster I create content that questions human-made cultural, social and economic structures through the lens of animistic spirituality.
There’s this colonial ideology (I source this framework from Eve Tuck and K. Wayne Yang in Decolonization is Not a Metaphor) that human beings are a blight on “Nature;” that we’re separate inherently. Let’s reject and redirect ourselves toward truth.
I propose a Liberatory Earth Medicine:
A medicine that is a being with the more-than-humxn world that does not rely on culturally appropriative practices or unnecessary projection of humxnity on non-humans.
Living in matter and in spirit, at the same time. Rejecting a cultural binary that divorces the spiritual from the material.
Collaborating with Others with consent; refusing to exploit.
A tuning in and recognizing parts of ourselves that are more than human—more animal, more body, more spirit.
An awareness of our ancestors that include boundaries with the spirit world.
A reclaiming of the word “witch” from colonizer religion, or reclaiming of any word at all that belongs to life-giving energy, while shedding words and practices that don’t.
Recognizing ourselves as beings that hold potentials of healing.
Thank you for visiting. I hope we can be comrades in this work.
